US Troops Stationed at Disputed Border
General Zachary Taylor leds US forces south towards the land that America and Mexico both claimed as theirs. -
US Declares War
Polk recieves Taylor's letter and asks the U.S. Congress to declare war on Mexico. Congress approves 10 million dollars and 50,000 volunteers for the ware effort. -

The battle is won and the Mexican army retreats past the rio grande. -
Mexico City Surrenders
The Mexican President is stripped of command and resigns from his presidency, and run away to Jamaica. -
Treaty of Guadelupe
Negotiators sign treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, and the treaty is then rushed to Whasington to be ratified by the US Senate. The treaty then becomes accepted by both the US and Mexico.
