This book spoke strongly against Booker Washington support towards public education which Du Bois thought was narrow and economy-focused. -
NAACP is Formed
In 1909, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was formed. -
More Blacks Start to Move North
Starting in the 1920s, many Blacks started to move north because of the fact that it was simply better and more fair for any race in the north than in the south.
