With the Invention of the Telephone, Bell had not only brought the country together more than ever, but created an empire for himself in the telephone industry. The telephone affected all of mainland United states, and cut away that isolation that those rural areas of the US had seen so much. This was the next big step in communications, and shaped anything it's influence touched. News traveled faster, and society changed as one could now ring up a friend to speak any time they wished. -

Invention of the Light Bulb by Thomas Edison
Arguably one of the most iconic inventions Edison's light bulb, crafted in his Menlo Park Lab, was ground breaking at it's time. This dawned the era of electric lighting, something that seemed reminiscent of a, for lack of better words, sci-fi future. The Launch of the First Affordable Car by Henry Ford
Ford took something already invented, the automobile, and looked at it as a point to capitalize on. With his focus on making a vehicle he could mass produce at a price that could generally be afforded by an "average joe" he perfected the assembly line. The use of this new working system meant he could manufacture automobiles for a much lower price than what was seen before. Though the vehicle spawned in a big city like Detroit, it was used just as much in the country for farm hauling later on. -

Though a Canadian discovery, Insulin's discovery still took impact in the society of the US. Raising the bar on medical standards, those with diabetes could now take regular easy treatments to keep their self healthy. The first use in fact dropping a boy's blood sugar levels within 24 hours. It was however patented, and Banting actually sold the patent, so it spread though the US, but those who were too poor to afford it still couldn't access it. -

Discovery of Penicillin by Alexander Fleming
Though discovered in UK, Penicillin's arrival to the world took huge impact all over the US. With Fleming being the humble man of science he was, he pushed for no patent on Penicillin, as he wished for it to be able to be accessed by all. This was a dawn of the antibiotic age. Diseases caused by bacteria could now be cured, ranging from syphilis to infections such as Strep Throat. The medical world was shaken upside down from this discovery, and Fleming was even awarded a nobel prize.
