Motorola was the first company to produce a hand held mobile phone, Martin Cooper who was a senior engineer at motorola created this handheld device. This cell phone weighed about 1.1kg, it took about 10 hours to charge and you could talk on it for about 30 minutes.

Steve Jobs released the first iphone at a macworld convention which led to lots of media attention. The Iphone 1 was released as the 1st generation and the 5 millionth one was sold within 5 days. The color choices offered were black and white and this phone had a camera with 480 pixels. -

The first galaxy was called the S1. As android has grown samsung has completely dominated it. Galaxy claimed 70% of the smartphone market in 2012. It has sold over 24 million worldwide. It has 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a 4-inch display, and a 5-megapixel camera. The reception was good and it was widely considered as credible competition for the HTC Desire and the iPhone 4. -
