Dr. Norikazu Sawazaki developed a prototype helical scan video tape recorder. Which then lead to the creation of the reel. -
The Reel- Part 2
Ampex introduced the Quadruplex videotape professional broadcast standard format. It became the world's first commercially successful videotape recorder using two-inch (5.1 cm) wide tape. -

DVD V.S. Blu-Ray
DVD is a little bigger than the Blu-Ray. Blu- Ray has just been used and is still being improved. It has not yet caught on. -

We don't use many discs anymore. We use different video streaming services. We also watch live TV. We can watch almost everything that is on a disc on one app that our TV has on it.
