The Soviet Union Forms
In November of 1917 the Soviet Union becomes an official country. After a long revolution the Socialist Republic declares itself its own country. This is very important to Hitler's life, because the Soviet Union was a large reason Hitler would fall. Hitler would try to invade the Soviet Union and would lose a large amount of his troops doing so. As an Ally the Soviets helped a lot on all fronts of the War. -
The Great Depression Hits
The Great Depression would hit America in October of 1929 and would soon spread to the rest of the world's economies. Hitler used the Great Depression to gain support in Germany. The depression would effect most every country that would fight in WWII. -
The London Naval Treaty is signed
Japan and Italy, Germany's allies in WWII signed the London Naval Treaty in 1930 with the UK, France, and the United States. This would regulate submarine warfare and naval shipbuilding. Japan and Italy would be Hitler's greatest allies agains the UK, France, and the United States during WWII. This is also interesting because Germany is not in this treaty, and during WWII the German submarines would be a big problem for the allies. -
Japan withdraws from the League of Nations
Japan leaves the League of Nations (the early 1900s version of the UN) in February of 1933. This was crucial to Japan being Hitler's biggest ally during WWII because it weakened Japan's relationships with the rest of the world's governments, so when Hitler went to war with the World, Japan felt comfortable doing so too. -
The Hindenburg Disaster
The Hindenburg was a passenger Blimp created under Hitler in Nazi Germany. It flew from Germany to the United States carrying passengers only for a year. In 1937 it crashed killing 36 of the 97 people aboard. This would be a failure for Hitler. -
Italy joins Germany
In 1940 Italy would join forces with Nazi Germany to take over the world, declaring war on Great Britain and France. This gave Germany many more resources during WWII to fight the allies. It was also an indicator of another World War.
