Creation of the 9 menceyatos
Before the colonizers arrived on the island, there was a single chief (Tinerfe El Grande) who ruled the entire island, who resided in Adeje. After his 9 children were born, he divided the territory into nine menceyatos to retract among his offspring. -

Origin of the Patron Saint Festivities of Adeje
There was a great plague of cigarrón in the town, and to solve it the population went to pray to the Image of Our Lady of La Encarnación, this helped them and the people to honor her decided to have a party every year in gratitude and not have the plague again. . This party is celebrated in October. -

There was a change in politics, eliminating the stately regime and incorporating jurisdictional manors, being able to choose the authorities thanks to the creation of the first constitutional councils. -

With the señoríos the sila was also divided into municipalities, leaving behind the señorío de Adeje thanks to the constitution. -
Improvement of services
There was an expansion of crops that brought social improvements to society such as the living conditions of the inhabitants, there were already primary schools, a town doctor, a music band and a soccer team. -
Social changes
There was a great tourist development that increased the population to a great extent. Thanks to economic development, the landscapes were changed. Adeje became a tourist and immigration power thanks to the growth of the foreign population that came in search of work. -
Shield
The shield of Adeje was approved by Order of the Government of the Canary Islands of May 24, 1991. -
Adeje received the title of Historical Villa
Adeje received the title of Villa Histórica by the Government of the Canary Islands, due to the historical, social and cultural importance of Adeje.
