Ada moves to Cold Mountain from Charleston to be with her father. Her dad was sick and he wanted her to be with him as his time got closer to an end. -
Ada Meets Inman!
Shortly after arriving to Cold Mountain, Ada meets Inman. She was very interested in him and he was very interested in her. But they both tried to conceal their interest. -
Ada's Piano Arrived
When Ada's piano arrived she played it as they pulled up to their home to place it inside. While she was playing Inman was listening and was intrigued by her talent. -
Monroe's House Party
Ada played her piano at the house warming. She noticed Inman outside in the rain. She went outside and brought root beer. Inman and Ada had a conversation on the porch while they had a big party. She asked him if we was going to the war and he told her that he would. She seemed concerned about the fact that he was going to war. -
Monroe and Inman's Stroll
Inman comes to Black Cove. Monroe offers to take him on a walk and Ada tags along. Ada walked in the back and Monroe and Inman walked in the front. This scene really means a lot. I think that this scene shows Ada that Inman is respectful and he gets along with her father. Inman also gives her a folder of music that his dad used to play. Also there was a picture of him inside. -
Everyone Finds Out About The War
Everyone was at church service singing and words spreads around about the war. Everyone gets excited and runs out of the church. Ada is a little unsettled because she doesn't want the war to happen and she doesn't want Inman to go. -
Ada Tells Inman Goodbye
Ada comes to his house and knocks on the door. She gives him a book with her picture inside. And they end up kissing long and passionately showing their true love for each other. Then he leaves and they are both wishing he could stay. -
Monroe's Death
Ada and her father sat at their table outside and he asked her to go inside and play something peaceful. She called out the window telling him to come inside because it was raining and learned that he was dead. -
Teague Pursues Ada!
Teague pursues her and she rejects him. Even though marrying Teague would have been an easier choice she chose not to. -
Ada tries to sell her father's watch
Ada became desperate for food and she tries to sell one of her father's watches. The lady at the local store tells her to keep the watch and gives her some food. She felt bad about it, and discouraged. -
Ada Looks Into the Future?
Ada tries to avoid Sarah and Esco Swanger because she feels like she is a burden and she feels very low about herself. Sarah invites her inside and they eat. Esco tells Ada she should look down their well to see the future. Ada sees Inman coming back to her with black crows flying around. -
Ruby Comes to Live With Ada
Ruby arrives at Black Cove and tells Ada that she was there to help her. All she needed was somewhere to live and somewhere to stay. Ruby also kills the rooster. -
Ada Mucks Her First Stall
Mucking her first stall, mending her first fence, baking her first apple pie-This led to Ada becoming a working women and not depending on somebody else. -
Ada Sells Her Piano
Ada offers to sell her piano for some money. Ruby tries to comfort her about it. Ada covers up the discomfort and keeps moving on. -
Ada Shoots Her First Turkey etc.
Ada was up on the mountain with Ruby trying to warm up Ruby's father. And she shot her first turkey in her amazement. She stood there in shock and turned around to see Inman walking towards her. She didn't know it was him at first then she did. That night Inman and her made love. -
Inman Dies
Teague and his crew meet Ruby and Ada as they were leaving the mountain. Teague tries to kill them but Inman ends up killing him first. Inman ends up having a shootout type of thing with Birch. Birch shoots Inman and Inman shoots Birch. Inman struggles down the hill and dies in Ada's arms -
Ada Gives Birth
After Ada and Inman had sex that night, she was pregnant. And gave birth to a healthy baby girl after 9 months. -
Last Scene
Ruby and Georgia end up getting married and having kids. Ada's daughter grew up and they all lived. They managed to live their life in Cold Mountain. Fall was Ada's favorite time of the year because there was so much death during the Civil War but she sees so much life.
