    This case led to the Supreme Court upholding the right to choose an abortion, but it also allowed states to place restrictions on abortion so long as they were not considered unreasonable burdens.

    Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act
    Court decision in which banned the abortion procedure of partially delivering the fetus and then terminating it. The act was challenged in court but was upheld in 2007.
  • June Medical Services v. Russo

    June Medical Services v. Russo
    Struck down the law that required doctors in Louisiana to have admitting privileges at a close by hospital in order to be able to perform abortions. The law was deemed too similar to another law that was deemed unconstitutional in the Whole woman's Health v Hellerstedt case.
  • Dobbs vs. Jackson Women's Health Organization

    Dobbs vs. Jackson Women's Health Organization
    This court case overturned the principle of constitutional protected rights to abortion. The Supreme Court also granted states the power to choose whether or not they place restrictions or ban abortion.
