James Cook Arrival
The English Lieutenant James Cook in the HMS Endeavour discovered the eastern coast, and claimed it for The British Crown. The land was named Terra Nullius and is now named Australia. -
Aboriginal Held In Captive
Because the Aboriginal Australians could not be let into the settlement, an Aboriginal by the name of Arabanoo was captured and held in captive. Governor Phillip hoped to learn his language so he could promote good relationships between The Aboriginals and The Europeans. -

In the morning, Governor Phillip threw a party ashore at Sydney Cove. He raised The British Colours and practiced British Power all over New South Wales. -
Western Australian Settlement Begins
New South Wales established a settlement in Western Australia in the location of King George Sound as a convict supported military base named Fredrick Town, but was renamed as Albany in 1832. Albany is now one of the cities in Western Australia. -
