    * The battle was fought on a hill so it was hard for both armies to fight.
    * The british outnumbered the american troops.
    * There was also a river dividing another part of land from the battle.
    * More than 1504 soldiers died that die for both sides.
    * Bunker Hill is accualy called Breed's Hill.

    * Future president George Washington was general in this war.
    * The british army consisted of over 20,000 soldiers.
    * Only 64 britsh soldiers were killed!

    Continential General: General George Washington.
    * The future 1st president of the U.S.A was the general.
    * Painter Emmanuel Leutze painted the famous picture of Washington crossing the Deleware River.
    * Surprisingly only 2 casualties occured for the americans.

    * Over 14,000 troops combined between the british/hessian & american troops fought.
    * This was a another battle led by George Washington for the americans.
    * Sadly the date is Sept 11, when the Twin Towers were attacked. Respectivly the later event will overshadow the battle.

    * Many historians take this battle as a draw, which is very rare.
    * The battle took place in my homestate of New Jersey!!
