Hitler defies The Treaty of Versailles
When Hitler defied the treaty it caused a lot of tension in Europe. Although this did not fully start the war it was the beginning of Hitler's on going invasions in Europe. -
Hitler is named Chancellor of Germany
Hitler becoming Chancellor is the main reason the war started in the first place. If he hadn't been trying to expand into France and Great Britain the war wouldn't have even started. -
FDR becomes President
Roosevelt was very understanding with the American people not wanting to go to the war in Europe. Although, in the end they went to war, Roosevelt was always sure to be sure the American people were always pleased. -

This act kept the U.S. out of the war for a good amount of time and kept the American people happy. This also caused things in Europe to be a lot more difficult since they did not have the U.S. to help. -

This invent somewhat brought the U.S. closer to the war because they were allies with China at this point. So it was the American's job to help China while Japan was trying to invade. -

This provided support for Hitler's Austrian National Socialist Party. This also made it so Germany had control of Austria to a certain extent. -
Munich Conference
This was an agreement that allowed Germany to annex certina areas of Czecholslovakia. In the agreement Hitler agreed to a policy of appeasement with Great Britain. Although, Hitler broke the agreement five months later causing controversary throughout Europe. -
Kristallnacht
This was an attacked against the Jewish people in Germany, enforced by Hitler. At least 91 Jews were killed. This was also the start of concentration camps in this war. -
Spanish Civil War
After the Spanish Civil War, Spain became a dictatorship. This caused them to go against the Allied Powers and also made America not agree with their governmental views. -
Nazi-Soviet Pact
This brought a little bit of an alliance between Soviet Union and Germany. Also, this kept the Soviet Union from siding with the Allied Powers. Although, Hitler ended up breaking this pact later on in the war. -
Germany Invades Poland
This was the start of Germany's invasions. Since Great Britain and France decided to ignore this, Germany only continued beomcing a stronger and stronger force. This also gave Hitler confidence to continue is invasions. -
The Phony War
During this time, Hitler had a chance to invade Scandinavia. It was a down time during the war where there wasn't much fighting. -
Churchill becomes Prime Minister
When Churchill become Prime Minister he become a lot more involvled in what was going on in Germany. Also, he was very convinced that the war needed the U.S. in order to defeat Hitler. -

The Axix Powers had the British trapped a long a beach. But one day the weather was abnormally calm and so the Allied powers were able to send help. -
Battle of Britain
After Hitler invaded France, this was his attempt on taking over Great Britain. Hitler was unsuccesful since the U.S. had been sending supplies to Great Britain. -
Japan seizes French Indo-China
This made it difficult to get supplies transported between China and French Indochina. This drew out the Battle of South Guangxi which was very unnecessary. -
Lend-Lease Act
This allowed the U.S. to send as much supplies as needed to Great Britain. This helped them a lot in the war and also kept the American people happy by staying out of the war. -
Attach on Pearl Harbor
This event was very important in this war. If this hadn't happened Roosevelt would never have gotten the American people to agree to join the war in Europe and fight. The U.S. might have never joined if it wasn't for the bombing. -
Atlantic Charter
This was an agreement between the U.S. and Great Britain. It also described the goals that each country had and their goals of post-war world. This insprired many national agreements that would later help shape the world.
