U.S. spoke out agianst Italy's actions but didnt have enough public support to go any furhter. -
Germany remilitarizes the Rhineland
Due to the Treaty of Versailles, Germany had to keep troops out of the Rhineland. hitler however sent Germany troops to the Rhineland. His excuse was that, the French & Soviet Union has a military agreement that threatened Germany. France Soviet Union were unwilling to go to war over the matter so the troops remained there. -

Started by fierce political conflict. Communist/Fascists & Nationalsits. This war attracted in many other countries including U.S., Italy, Soviet Union, and Germany. The fighting was brutal and hundred of thousands of people died. Franco's nationalists defeated the republicans. Spain went under control of fascist dictator. -
