A Small Look at the Life of Steve Jobs

  • A Legend is Born

    Jobs was born February 24th, 1955 in San Francisco CA to parents Abdulfattah "John" Jandali from Syria and Joanne Carole Schieble from the united states. (Timeline - All about Steve Jobs.) He was put up for adoption imeediately prior to birth due to Carole's father not allowing her to marry John. Steve was soon adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs who promised his birth parnets they would get him through College (Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address).
  • Steve Starts 4th Grade

    When asked about his formal education in an interview, Jobs could only seem to mention one thing, 4th grade. He was placed in the advanced fourth grade class and the teacher he was assigned, as he said, completely changed his life. He commented the following about her: "She got me kits for making cameras. She gave me extra math books. It was really quite wonderful. I think I probably learned more academically in that one year than I learned in my life" (Steve Jobs Interview: One-on-one in 1995).

    Following high school graduation in 1972, Jobs wnet to Reed College in Portland, Oregon, where his parents were spending much of their life savings on his higher education. Jobs dropped out of college after six months due to finantial problems and spent the next 18 months dropping in on creative classes, including a course on calligraphy. In the commencement address he gave at Stanford, Jobs said, "I slept on the floor in friends' dorm rooms and recycled for money, but If I had never dropped in
  • Jobs Starts Apple Computer Company

    Jobs, along with Steve Wasniak (designer of Apple 1), and Ronald Wayne, started Apple Computer Co in his parents garage. They started selling small, growing rapidly, making steve one of the first young and successful entrepreneurs in the silicon valley area (Timeline - All about Steve Jobs).
  • Jobs Gets Fired from Apple

    While Jobs was a great director for Apple, some of his employees labeled him as an ill tempered and mean leader. He tended to hold meeting too long and than call more early the next morning. Fallings in sales caused a power stuggle between Jobs and Scully, In 1985, during an April board meeting, Apple's board of directors gave Sculley the power to remove Jobs from all roles, Jobs was demoted to working on the Macintosh. Jobs was later fired due to his crazy work involved with it (Siegel, Joel).

    Jobs Returns to Apple
    After getting fired, Jobs decided to start a new company called NeXT Inc. He developed new computers and software, again bringing him success. In 199y, Apple announced that it would buy NeXT for $427 million. The deal was finalized in February bringing Jobs back to the company he started.   • A Legend is Lost

    Jobs died at his home in Palo Alto, California around 3 PM on October 5, 2011. He passed due to complications from a relapse of his previously treated pancreatic cancer, this time resulting in respiratory arrest. He lost all consiouness the day before and soon after died with his wife, children, and sisters at his side. A lot of people were scared for the future of Apple without its founder at the core.
