Freshman year of high school my science teacher required us to type all of our assignments unlike any other teacher. This was my first exposure to a computer after previously using a typewritter to complete asssignments. -
College and personal e-mail accounts
When I went to college for the first time e-mail revolutionized how I communicated. There were many changes going from a typewritter in middle school to e-mail in college. Basically this changed the way I inquired for information using the Internet. -
IM, Gateway PC, and Microsoft Office
One year later I expanded how I used ICT's. Since I owed my first pc and software I spent more time on the computer. Especially with the option of IM since I socialized more through this option. -
Work e-mail
When I had my first job outside of college it was expected that e-mail was used to communicate. I had to learn e-mail etiquette when working with people. This was a change that took a little time to get used to. -
First cell phone!
It seemed like to me that I was the last person to get a cell phone. This is when I got rid of the land line. I found the cell phone to be handy and made all phone calls an no texts. -
Dell laptop and Wordpress
Since this was the first laptop I owed I liked how it was portable. This is when I started working with blogs and creating my own page. I started to spend more time online at this point. -
Flip cell phone
This type of cell phone was nice to have since it had a larger screen. At the time I did not realize how quickly it would become obsolete. It would not be until around 2011 that I would start texting. -
LEEP online student: Boot Camp! iPod and Facebook
Starting the GSLIS program really motivated me to start engaging with various ICT tools. Acquiring the iPod was my introduction to owning a mobile device. Starting on Facebook changed the way I socialized in that I sent way more text messages. -

Entering GSLIS for the second time really pushed me to broaden my horizons when using ICT. Now using multiple Web 2.0 tools in school and work. Trying new out new ideas is the norm. -
iPhone, iPad and Kindle Cloud Reader
Now I am finding that I am engaging with an increased number of devices in a short period of time. With information on the cloud it is easier and faster to access information. Keeping up with how to navigate devices is interesting since different devices have different pathways.
