After America was discovered, people from northwestern Europa sailed to america to settle in north america. Most early immigrants were from England, but they also came from Scotland, Wales, Irland, Germany, Holland and France. It was also bought slaves from Africa to America. -

In 1849 people found gold in California. People from all over the world came to take part in the gold rush.
