Elsa spent the night in East Berlin with her extended family. While she was sleeping, the Berlin Wall was put up, separating her and her immediate family. -

Elsa's parents try to find a way to get to her. People were trying to escape East Berlin by jumping out their windows. -

Elsa spends Christmas upset because she misses her parents and brother, but tries to be happy for her other relatives. -
Fourth Entry
It is Elsa's fourteenth birthday and she misses West Berlin. The school teachers speak about communism in a good light. -
Fifth Entry
Alf's friend Peter was shot by border patrol trying to cross the Berlin Wall. -
Sixth Entry
President Kennedy traveled to West Berlin to speak about the Berlin Wall. Elsa became hopeful and inspired. -
Seventh Entry
President Kennedy was assassinated. -
Eighth Entry
Elsa turns sixteen and thinks about being back in West Berlin and how she would have been allowed to drive. -
Ninth Entry
President Ronald Reagan spoke and Elsa listened in with her two daughters. -
Final Entry
After 28 years, the Berlin Wall was torn down and Elsa was reunited with her family.
