People Avoid Scrooge On the Street
No one stops Scrooge in the street to ask him how he is doing. "Nobody ever stopped him in the street to say, 'My dear Scrooge, how are you? when will you come to see me?' NO beggars...no children...no man or woman... Marley Visits
Marley comes to warn Scrooge of his awful future ahead. "At this the Spirit raised a frightful cry, and shook its chain with such a dismal and appalling noise, that Scrooge held on tight to his chair, to save himself from falling in a swoon. But how much greater was his horror, when the phantom taking off the bandage round its head... its lower jaw dropped down upon its breast! Scrooge Has a Change in Heart
Scrooge has a big change in heart and begins to live life for others. He shows this first when he is walking into church on Christmas morning. "'I am as light as a feather, I am as happy as an angel, I am as merry as a schoolboy. I am as giddy as a drunken man. A merry Christmas to everybody! A happy New Year to all the world. Hallo here! Scrooge gives a pay raise and warmth to Bob
Scrooge is starting to show he really has changed by giving Bob a pay raise and warmth. "A merry Christmas Bob!' said Scrooge, with an earnestness that could not be mistaken, as he clapped him on the back...I'll raise your salary, and endeavour to assist your struggling family, and we will discuss you affairs this very afternoon, over a Christmas bowl of smoking bishop, Bob! Mrs. Cratchit Speaks Her Mind
Mrs. Cratchit doesn't like Scrooge very much and wants to give a piece of her mind."'I wish I had him here. Future - Tiny Tim's Death
Scrooge travels with the Ghost of Christmas Future and sees Tiny Tim's mournful death. "'No, no,' said Scrooge. 'Oh, no, kind Spirit. say he will be spared.'...'If these shadows remain unaltered by the Future, none other of my race,' returned the Ghost, 'will find him here. What then. If he be like to die, he had better do it, and decrease the surplus population. Scrooge travels into the future with the Ghost of Christmas Future ands sees his grave. His heart was changed forever. "The Spirit was immovable as ever.
