Marbury v. Madison Supreme Court Decision
William Marbury wrote the government, saying that James Madison should be forced to deliver his commision. The Supreme Court denied his request, saying that it was unconstitutional. This was the first time something was declared unconstitutional, therefore a monument in United States law. -
Louisiana Purchase
France had taken over Louisiana. Jefferson wanted it back, so he negotiated, and had all states buy Louisiana. It costed America 15 million dollars. ($219 million today) -
Lewis and Clark reach the Pacific ocean
Lewis and Clark finally found the Pacific ocean at the end of their search for the Northwest Passage. But by the time they got there, they knew that it did not exsist. They reached the ocean 1 year, 6 months, and 1 day after leaving St. Louis, Missouri. -

The Treaty of Ghent was signed in present-day Belgium. It ended the War of 1812 between the United States and the United Kingdom and Ireland. -
Andrew Jackson elected president (1st term)
Andrew Jackson was elected president for his first term. He was like the people, and did what the people thought was right. He was elected into his second term shortly after he closed the national bank, another thing the people wanted.
