Poverty was very bad in Jamaica, most jamaicans made less than $20 a week. 95% of all Jamaicans from the 1950s to the 1960's were in poverty. -

Inspiration
Bob's mom inspired him to sing raggae music because while growing up she always played it. Raggae music is music that more properly denotes a particular music style that originated following on the development of ska and rocksteady. It originated in Jamaica in the late 1940's. -
Sears Tower
The Sears Tower was finished being built in 1973. When it was done being built it was the worlds new tallest building. It was renamed the Willis Tower on July 16th, 2009. -
Coming to the U.S
The London Bridge was brought to the U.S on March 17, 1973. It is a bridge over the River Thames connecting the city of London and Southwark in Central London. -
Political Shooting
A gunman burst into Bob's home in Kingston, Jamaica in a political shooting. Don Taylor a movie actor, jumped in front of Bob and got injured on his leg also Bob had an injured arm. -
Order of Merit
Bob Marley recieved Jamaica's order of Merit award, which is jamaicas third highest honor. The Order of Merit award is rarely given to people and take much time in thinking out who will get the award. -
Sad moment in History
Bob Marley died of cancer on May 11, 1981 in Miami Florida. The cancer first started as skin cnacer on his foot but later spread to his lungs and brain. -
Presented an Award
Bob won the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame award. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a museum on Lake Erie in Cleveland OH. The museum is dedicated to recording the history of some of the best-known and most influential artists
