The Development of Robots
This is a timeline about robots' development. -
Gakutensoku
Gakutensoku was the first robot manufactured (By Japan‘s Nakoto Mishimura). However, it was only the upper body, and the things that this robot could do was make simple emotions from its face, like happy, sad, or tired. It was also made with tin and copper, with its upper body (except for the head) was painted colorfully, and the face was painted gold. Gakutensoku was bald, with another colorful headdress on its head. -
Elektro
Elektro was a robot made by Americans with another batch of 8 robots. Elektro was made with tin and copper, with a recorded child's voice and stood 2 and and a half meter tall. Though Elektro looked strong, the robot could not run and would fall down after 5 steps or more. -
Unimate
Unimate是美國人喬治·德佛製造的，是全世界第一個可編程序的機械人。它的用處可多，而Unimate的最大作用是把車的部分放在一起。但是，在做Unimate的過程不容易，因為如果工作人員不小心，他可能會被毒氣毒死，或會被它很重的部分壓斷手腳。 -
Hisashidge Tanaka
日本人Hisashidge Tanaka 在1979年發明了一些比較複雜的機械人，而他們能奉茶，射箭，和畫一些簡單的畫。 -
Autonomous Robots
Autonomous robots were mainly for exploring unexplored lands, like Mars, Venus, the Moon et cetera. It was made by Englishman William Gray Walter, and it was first introduced as a simple robot with a crane-like hand, a body that contained a motor and caterpillar treads. -

Asimo is gradually 'Growing'! At first I thought it was a toast box with legs. Now it looks more like some person in a space suit! Give some feed back! -
Asimo (2000-)
Asimo today! Asimo is about as tall as a 8-year-old kid, and it can walk up stairs, kick balls, run, and do stuff you can do today. Asimo is celebrating his 10th birthday. Congradulations, Honda!
