Proclamation of 1763
Since the British wanted to avoid further wars with native americans the issued the Proclamation of 1763. It would'nt let anyone go and settle in the west of a line drawn along the Appalachian Mountains. -
Stamp Act
The stamp acty was a direct tax made by the british parliment. People had to have stamps on certain supplies and the stamps were the tax. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a street fight between patriots and soldiers. The patriots were using rocks and stones while the soldiers fired line after line of gun ammo. -
Battle of Alamance
The Battle of Alamance is fought in NC because of taxation and local government is a battle of local government vs. the king. -
Boston Tea Party
A group of Americans called the sons of liberty organized an attack on the east india company. They unloaded the tea that the ship that held the tea was on. -
First Continental Congress
The Congress demanded the official end of the Intolerable Acts and stated that colonists have rights on decideing the goverment and tax's themselves. The Congress also decided to make a new boycott on British goods. -
Second Continental Congress
This was a meeting about what to do about the delegates from New England wanting to declare independence.Nearly all of the delegates thought they needed to prepare for war. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The British General William Howe had decided to attack straight up a hill. More than a 1000 British soldiers were killed and 400 Americans also, but the British won the fight, but not without a fatal blow. -
