    Battles of Lexington and Concord
    The Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first battles of the Revolutionary War, making it significant. The British was hoping to capture Samuel Adams and John Hancock in Lexington. John Parker and the rest of the small American militia force were warned by the riders, such as the famous Paul Revere. The British troops were sent to Lexington to take away their weapons, the troops ran into an angry militia and takes them by surprise, leading to war.

    Battle of Fort Ticonderoga
    The colonist captured Fort Ticonderoga on May 10, 1775, the early stage of the Revolutionary War. The Green Mountain Boys was the name of the militia who had a vital part in capturing Fort Ticonderoga.   • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    1775 is the year the Battle of Bunker Hill took place. British were forced under the command of Major General William Howe (1729-1814) and Brigadier General Robert Pigot (1720-96). The Americans let loose with a lethal barrage of musket fire, while the Redcoats were within several dozen yards, which threw the British into retreat. Both sides were in very bad conditions during and after the war. Less colonial soldiers were wounded and killed during the Battle of Bunker Hill.

    General George Washington was the leader of his army. George and his army crossed over the icy Delaware.     The Battle of Saratoga took place on the Hudson River in New York State. 5,895 British and Hessian troops surrendered their arms. Burgoyne believed that this bold stroke would achieve command of the Hudson River and demoralize Americans. The French would be one of their allies.   • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    The colonists wrote The Treaty of Paris which meant that America was theirs. The French helped the Americans win the Battle of Yorktown.
