It all started when a group of men started a brawl. Since there was a fruit and vegetable stand near by they took tomatoes an started throwing them. Now a days, every year, there is a sort of reinactment of it exept people now bring there own tomatoes. This festival happens in the Valencian town of Buñol. It is held the last Wednesday in August, during the week of festivities of Buñol. The last wednesday in August of 1944 was the 30th. -
Castellers de Vilafranca
Castellers de Vilafranca is a holiday that usually takes place in the summer. This holiday is when boys, girls, men, and woman of all ages and all races climb on people's shoulders to make the highest human tower possible. It's a competition between other groups and their past records to build the tallest tower. This spanish holiday takes place outside or under very tall ceilings. -
La fería de abril
La feria de Abril is held in Seville, Spain.This celebration lands on different days every year but always days around April and May.This Holiday is a fair that occurs at midnight on monday and lasts until the following sunday.That's the reason why it falls on different days.Each day begins with a parade of carriages carrying Sevilles leading citizens.After the carriage ride they go to the bullring where bullfighters and breeders meet.Then at the end there is spectacular fire works. Moros y Cristianos
This festival takes place from April 21- April 24 every year. This holiday/fiesta is done in memory of their ancestors when the Alcoy fought in 1275. During this 4 day period, 28 armies prepare to battle and gunsmoke fills the air. This is a big day for the people of Spain for the whole year they plan for it. Raising money for costumes, supplies and traveling money. This holiday is done along the spanish coast in different cities. -
Pamplona
Pamplona is a very high endurance and high energy festival. You must be 18 years old or older and not under the influence of alcohol to participate. This festival occurs on the 7th - 14th in July every year. It is said that this festival was originated in the early 14th century.
