Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was an event that happend in Boston. The Massacre broke out becasue some of the citizens and the soldiers got into an argument, then they began taunting eachother. The end of this disaster was when one of the soldiers became so angry and shot into the mob of citizens; It ended out that more people started shooting. This resulted in five men from Boston getting shot and killed. -
Boston Tea Party
Colonistas became very upset that the British East India Company where trying to get their tea into the harbor. The colonistas did not like that so one night they dressed themselfs to look like Mohawk Indians; then they dumped 342 chests of tea into the harbor. -
Battle of Lexington & Concord
The battle started in Lexington, Massachusetts. It started when Brtish soldiers went to arrest the two main leaders. Paul Revere went and told the two men and they ran away. By the time the soildiers got there no one was there. they all ran away because Paul made the anouncment that they were comming so they quickly escaped. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill was fought because the Americans had taken over a hill that over looked Boston and the harbor. The Brtish wanted the hill so they decided to fight the Americans for it. The first time the Britsh Attacked the Americans got the win, the second time it was the same the Amerricans won. The Brtish General Howe wanted to try and take the hill the last and final time. They attacked and teh Americans were low on ammo and low on their soldiers. The Brtish had won. -
Battle of New York
This Battle took place in New York and in parts of New Jersey. General Howe took his men across to Long Island. General commander Washington was in control of Long Island in the begining. The British moved into Bedford where they opened fire. From there the British claimed New York for the rest of the war. -
Declaration of Independence Signing
The Declaration of Independence was a historical paper that stated that the Colonists did not want to have anymore business or connections to Great Britain. It was also drafted by the man by the name of Thomas Jefferson. Some of the Colonists that signed the Declaraion were John Handcock, Samuel Adams, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson. -
Battle of Trenton
The battle was fought during the winter. George Washington took a risk of fighting in the middle of winter, because its cold and no one usually has the money to feed and supost an army. George also risked crossing the Delaware River into New Jersey. The Washington go the New Jersey he captured around 900 Hessians. This was a much needed victory for Washington. -
Battle of Princeton
This war took place only a week after the Battle of Trenton. The victory of this battle gave the Americans hope that they could possibly win the American Revolution. This battle begain when Washington wanted to try and attack the British again in New Jersey. -
Battle of Saratoga
This battle stoped the Brtish from splitting the colonies into two parts. It was a bad thing if the British would of split the colonies into two, because all of the colonies relied on eachother. Burgoyne was the leader of the British at the time. France ended up offering their support to the Americans. -
Valley Forge
The battle began in December of 1777 and it ended in June of 1778. This war had very harsh conditions. The spread of diseases were uncontrolable, the disease that was spreading the most was small pox. A man by the name of Von Steuben took Washington's soldiers and trained them, by spring Washington had a good strong army. -
Battle of Yorktown
This was the last battle of the American Revolution. George Washington was the general of the Americans at this point. The french wanted to team up with the Americans so they worked together to try and defeat the British, who were controlled by General Cornwallis. The Americans won the war. -
Treaty of Paris (the one that ended the Revolutionary War)
This document officually ended the Revolutionary War. The treaty said that the Americans had independence from Britian. It also mentioned that all of the people from Britian had to go back to Britain.
