    Election of 1860
    The nation became divided and put the Republican party into the for front with Arbaham Lincoln as nommine. Lincoln won which upset most Southern states and started the train of seccesions.
  • Attack on Fort Sumtner

    Attack on Fort Sumtner
    Forts in the south were held by federal troops, but claimed by seceded state South Carolina. The stated refused to give up the forts. Lincoln attacked the fort and captured it after two days of war.

    Davis was a leader of the Confederacy during the Civil War and was President of the Confederate States of America the entire Civil War.
  • Battle of Bull Run

    Battle of Bull Run
    Union troops marched from D.C to VIrginia to attack Confederate forces. Confederates, led by General Thomas Jackson fought back and sent the Union back to D.C. The battle formed a myth that Rebels were invincible.

    Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson
    General Jackson led the Confederacy in the first Battle of Bull Run during the Civl War. He also served as a commander of the Army of Northen Virginia.

    While the North tried to build up economic and navel advantages by shutting down the South's soucre of supply. The North's plan was put in jeopardy buy the South's ironcade ship the "Maniac"
  • Winfield Scott and the Anaconda Plan

    Winfield Scott and the Anaconda Plan
    The Anaconda Plan was a last attempt to prevent the war from beginning and resolve the slavery issue. Sccot divised the plan to use agianst the south and entd the rebellions promptly. Union troops would be sent out at certaion spots of the south to force the rebels to give up, but the plan wasn't accpeted and to dislike of President Lincoln he decided not to use the plan.

    Battle of Antietam
    Rober E. Lee lead the army into Maryland territory in hopes of convincing Britain to support the confederacy. Unfortunately Lee's plan fell into McClellan's hand. By knowing the confederates plan the Union intercepted the army at Antietam Creek. The Confederacy was no match for the Union and went to Virginia. With this small victory President Lincoln set plans for the Emancipation Proclamation.

    Battle of Fredericksburg
    After replacing General McClellan, General Burnside and the Union attacked General Lee's army in Fredericksburg VIrginia. The Union nor the Confederacy we ready. The Union suffered great loss of men, greater than the Confederates. The improved weapons and artillery made war a lot deadlier.
