    The Boston Massacre was the killing of five colonists by British regulars. Tensions in the American colonies that had been growing since troops first appeared in Massachusetts to inforce taxes by the Townshend Acts.

    The Boston Tea Party wasn't an actuall party. It was more like revenge on the British for taxing tea and such. The towns people were so mad that they dressed up as indians and dumped thousands of dallors werth of money in the Harboor.

    Thomas Gage sent about 700 soldiers to destroy wepons and ammunition that the colonists had hid in Concord.They wanted to arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock but Paul Revere found out about this and went to alert John Hancock and Samuel Adams.

This battle made the U.S. colonies and Great Britoin see that this matter was not going to be decided by one quick battle

    The British began the effort by recapturing New York. They drove Washington off Long Island. He retreated to White Plains, where he was able to hold off the British forces. The British "outmanuevered" Washington. He was forced to retreat to New Jersey.

    The Declaration was approved by the Second Continental Congress on July 4th, but it could not be signed until about a month later. John Handcock was the first to sign this document, not everyone signed on that day but after everyone had signed there where 56 names on it. Two which were later on presidents and three that became vice presidents.

    Washington's Army crossed the Delaware river and surprised the British at Trenton. There were 2,400 troops on the Hessian Garrison. Washington's troops surprised and defeated the British forces.

    The American army was blocking Burgoyne's way at Bemis Heights. The British attemptrd twice to break through American defenses, After the second attempt, they withdrew to Saratoga, There they were surrounded by American troops. The British had no choice but to surrender.

    Vally Forge was really in the winter of 1777-1778. It was located in Pennsylvania 18 mile northwest of Philadelphia.It was a winter of suffering and hardship for the troops. It was also a winter of training.The American troops learned how to be professional soldiers
  • Battle of Princeton

    This battle took place in Princeton. Howe sent troops south to take on Washington in Trenton. The Battle of Princeton was won by the Americans at the last moment, making the British retreat to New Brunswick. in New Jersey.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Cornwalis arrived in Petersburg after receiving conflicting instructions, Cornwalis went to Yorktown and started preparing a naval base.Washington moved south with the French and naval forces, surrounded the British forced them to surrender.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The treaty of Paris is a peace treaty that was formally signed between Great Britain and the United States. This treaty officially ended the Revolutionary War.!! (Yayy no more war :D)
