    The Floppy Disk revolutionized saving data and it came in pair with our modern computers, although it is not still used, but it was mostly thought to be an invention of the 80's considering that is when it was becoming commonplace to own a computer.

    If you look up brick phone, the top search will show you a Motorolla created in 1983, yet it was not the first brick phone, or mobile phone ever created. Although it was still a Motorolla the brick phone is older than people think. It was actually invented in 1973 by Martin Cooper.

    Before the 70's computers had to be huge to fit in all the giant processors and fans and what not, until there were microprocessors small enough to make a relatively small computer. Unfortunately, the personal computer was very personal with the wallet because it was new technology not yet refined, so it wasn't cheap enough for most common folks until the eighties.

    The VHS or video home system came out in 1976 by JVC and was introduced to the U.S. in 1977. It became a living room staple sweepingly quick and made recording and watching movies at home leagues easier than ever before. Again because it came out in the late 70's it is typically lumped in with the 80s.

Although it was actually released in July of 1979, it is recognized as 80's tech because of how closely released it was to the next decade and when it gained popularity.
