Exposition--Backround 1
15 year old girl, Jane Arrowood has been attacked by a shark. She has been transported into a hospital, where she is fighting for her life. The docters had to amputate her arm above the elbow. -
Exposition--Characters 3
Jane is a 15 year old girl. She is a normal teenager dealing with normal teenage problems. Her life changes when she is bitten by a shark.
Michael is a graduated senior student. Once the summer is over, he is going to go to college. He is Jane's brother.
Mom is just a normal mother trying to raise 2 teenagers. She is now trying to offer support to Jane. -
Exposition--Setting 2
Jane is in the hospital, and she is going to stay there for at least 2 months going through rehab, and getting to know her new arm. -
Rising Action Conflict
There is much pain in Jane's arm. She must try to cope with other people looking at her in public. The docters are insensitive, and Jane wonders if it would have been easier if she had just died that day. -
Rising Action 1
Jane wonders why the man on the beach that video taped her getting bitten by the shark, couldn't have helped her instead of giving the video to the news. -
Rising Action 2
Jane is mad and embarassed about the "pity bears" that people send her. They give her sympathy that she doesn't want. -
Rising Action 3
Jane is sad. She wants her dad back, she wants him to come and comfort her, in her darkest hours. Her dad died of cancer, and she wants him more then ever. -
Rising Action 4
Jane keeps having strange dreams about getting her arm bitten off by a dog or an alligator. Her brain is trying to think of a reason of why her arm is missing. -
Rising Action 5
Jane meets Justin, a little boy who lost his leg in a car accident. Justin has changed her life. -
Climax!
Jane must go back to her high school with her new arm. She must face gossip and boy problems. -
Falling Action 1
Jane is finally at peace with herself. She feels as if she is starting to return to her normal self. -
Falling Action 3
Janes friends throw her a surprise party. Janes mom is remined of how her daughter almost died, and that it is a miracle that she is around to see another birthday. -
Falling action 2
Jane starts voleenteering at the local hospital. She helps people like her everyday. It helps her overcome the sadness she experiences. -
Falling Action 4
Jane makes some of her famous lemon bars for her mom on mothers day dispite of the frustration and emotions that come along with it, Jane was very happy. -
Falling Action 5
Jane really wants to learn jow to drive, but Mom still fears that something is going to happen to Jane, and she is holding her back. -
Resolution 1
It is the Memorial Day Barbeque. All of Jane's friends are there. Jane finally opens up to them and accepts her disability. She is Jane again. -
Resolution 2
Jane is done with her conscious, constantly bringing her down. She shuts it up, and gets on with her life. -
Resolution 3
Jane writes back to a cancer victem. Inspiring her to do great in the world. Jane finally found herself, and she is proud of who she is.
