Birthday
I was born on November 25, 1976 to Wilma and Samuel McNabb in a small house in South Chicago. I have one brother, named Sean McNabb. -
We move to Dolton
Dolton MapAt age eight, my family and I moved to Dolton, a suburb outside of Chicago. We were one of the first African American families to move to this town. Before we moved in, teenagers vandalized our home. But this didn't stop the us. My parents wanted a better life for us, so we fixed up the house, and moved in anyway. -
I Try Football
In the seventh grade, I tried football for the first time. I started out as a runningback, but eventually moved to, quarterback. My parents would pay me $10 for every touchdown I scored, but after many touchdowns, this was brought down to $5. -
High School
In 1994, I entered high school. I played basketball, baseball, and football at Mt. Caramel, a private school in Illinois. By sophmore year, I was starting quarterback for the football team. I had led the team to 2 championships by the time I graduated. I graduated in 1998. -
College
High school was over and it was time to go to college. I had chosen to go to the Syracuse University, in New York. After a year of sitting the bench, I became starting quarterback at Syracuse. -
1999 Draft
In april, 1999 I entered the NFL draft. In the first round, I was chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles to become starting quarterback. I would have to train for many hours, but it would all be worth it in the end. -
Graduation
In May of 1999, I graduated college. I had already been drafted by the eagles, but still needed to graduate. I held very good grades at Syracuse, and graduated easily. -
2005 Super Bowl
After leading my team to the NFC Championship in the 2004 season, we were only one game away from the super bowl. After a tough battle, we defeated the Atlanta Falcons, and were secured a place in history. The Super Bowl was played in February, of 2005, but unfortunately, we could not pull out a win over the determined New England Patriots. -
Torn ACL
In a game against the Titans in 2006, I felt a loud snap after being pushed out of bounds. After being taken into the locker room for an MRI, the doctor told me the bad news. I had a torn ACL, and would not be able to play the rest of the season. -
Trade
On April 4, 2010, I was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Washington Redskins, after being with the Eagles 11 seasons. It was hard to leave a team that I have been with for so long, but it hopefully was for the best.
