It is named after the city it was held in, which is near the Fontainebleu Forest, France. People would gather here to take part in the movement towards realism art. -
Constant Troyon
click here for info Constant Troyon was a French painter who was born in Sevres. He took up the family trade and became a porcelain director at the factory in his hometown. Around 1830, he took an interest in landscape painting and was a leading member of the Barbizon School. In 1847, Troyon traveled to Holland where he was influenced by Cuyp and Potter.
