The French & Indian War Ended
After Great Britian delared war on France, the war lasted seven years. The fighting took place in Europe, India and North America. They were fighting over land. The Treaty of Paris ended the war but hundreds of lives wer lost. -
The Boston Massacre
British military were sent to Boston to keep order and uphold the Townsend Acts. The troops were constantly tormented by civilians. On the night of March 5,1770, a riot started resulting in shots being fired, by the British soldiers. Five civilians were killed The soldiers were tried for murder. -
The Tea Act
The Tea Act was passed on May 10, 1773, to broaden the British East India Company's monopoly on the tea tradeto all British Colonies. This act was started to assist the East India Company, which was faltering financially and burdened with millions of pounds of unsold tea. The Tea Act lowered the price so ch that it was way below tea prices from other suppliers. This angeed American Colonists because they couldn't buy tea from anyone else without spending lots of money. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The British and Americans were very angry with each other. British Commander, General Thomas Gage knew the Rebel Army was surrounding Boston. New recruits were joining the Rebel Army every day. Boston was under seige. The Americans ordered their troops to Bunker Hill. Fighting took place and eventually the Britishwere forced to fall back. -
Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence states the reasons the British Colonies of North America wanted independence. The Declaration of Indpendence states that all men are created equal and the government should never violate these rights....The right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. If the government fails to protect these rights, it is the dutyof the people t overthrow the government.
