Ruby Bridges was born on September 8,1954 at a hospital in Tylertown, Mississippi. Ruby was a healthy seven pound baby. Ruby was her parent's 1st child. -

Rubys father helped her be proud of who she is and her race. He made her love herself for who she is and helped her through life. -

Rubys Mother cared for Ruby. She wanted her to have a good life and be a good girl/woman. She wanted to Ruby to love people for themselves and love God and people in Ruby's life. -

Rosa Parks, a black woman, is aressted in Montogomery, Alabama. She refused to give up her seat on a city bus to a white passenger. -
Ruby's school was segergated
Ruby's segergated school was fairly far from her house. All the kids in Ruby's school were black including her teacher. Whites didntn't like blacks because their skin was "colored" laws were starting to change and schools were going to intergrate, but whites didn't like that idea so much! -
Facing School Problems
Ruby faced alot of problems at school. Ruby ended up being the only black stundent in her new school William Frantz. White people shouted mean things at Ruby because they didn't want Ruby in their school. Most of the white parents tooke their kids out of school when Ruby came into WIlliam Frantz. Ruby had trouble eating food that wasn't packaged when it was given to her because one lady shouted at Ruby that she was going to poison her and she would find a way. -
Ruby Intergrates a White School
Ruby is one of the 1st students in New Orleans, Louisiana to intergate at a white school. Ruby made a diffrence in 1960, showing the world that whites and blacks are the same on the inside and color of your skin shouldn't matter. Ruby also showed that white people and black people are aloud to go to school together. -
Event in World History: Four black 1st garders
In February 1960 four black 1st graders intergrate two public schools in New Orleans, Lousiana. Ruby Bridges is one of those 1st graders. -

Mrs. Henry was a very loavble and caring teacher to Ruby. She cares alot for Ruby and her life. She takes care of Ruby as much as she could. Mrs. Henry helped Ruby become the great girl she is. -

RUby Bridges recieved a honorary degree at the college of New Rochelle. Ruby also received an honorary degree at Connecticut College in 1995. -
