Babi Yar Massacre
Einsatzgruppen mobile squads shot and killed at least 34,000 Jews over a one week period then captured the city Kiev, Ukraine and bombed many buildings by the Soviet Secret Police, unfortunately in retailiation the Germans killed all of the Jews of Kiev over 100,000 died. -
Attack on Pearl Harbor
Hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. They managed to destroyed 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes. Joe Louis was the boxing icon of the 40's and held the title heavyweight champion for twelve years. -

Lee Savold won the heavyweight championship against Bruce Woodcock and he was nicknamed The Battling Bartender because his boxing style was smooth, but during a boxing match one of his punches was harder than usual and the punch was considered a foul and everyone started to call him The Battling Bartender. -

An enterainment icon of the wild west, John Wayne was known for starring in old western movies for example True Grit, and The Searchers. He influenced many people and after he died his childern passed on his will to establish the John Wayne Cancer Foundation still here today in Santa Monica, California.
