The Brittish soldiers were supposed to go to Concord but, they saw Minutemen in Lexington and went towards them. Tons of brittish soldiers were injured. The Americans used a new kind of war fare called gurilla war fare and, it kind of threw the Brittish soldiers off. -
Bunkers (Breeds) Hill
Click here for more information The battle of Bunkers Hill was the first offical battle of the American Revolution. The British planned to control the Bunkers hill. The Americans built a fort out of the hill. They held the British off twice until they were forced to surrender, because they ran out of ammunition. This battle showed that the Americans would need allies. This battle resulted in British victory. -
Saratoga
The battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the war.It made the French want to be allies with the Americans.This battle it prevented the British from dividing New England from the rest of the colonies. The battle started in Albany where Brittish general John Bergonye found the American army blocking his way. Americans tricked the British.They came and fired at British then ran acting like they were retreating. The British soliders chased after them only to run into more American soldiers. The british were out numbered and retreated to Virginia. American General Daniel wanted his men to be scared it would make them fight hard. -
Yorktown

When the Continental army marched to Yorktown they had no idea where the French, their ally was. Just like in the battle of Charleston the British decided to come by boat. The French Navy went out and blockaded the harbor and prevented the British from coming in by sea. The British were completely surrounded and they surrendered. The captured American soldiers were realsed.
