Lexington and Concord
The first shot was fired there. Nobody knows who fired it. It is refferred to "the shot heard around the world". The battle would not have happened if the British would have gone to Concord insted of Lexington. The patriots won. -
Bunker (Breeds Hill)
It was the first official battle. The British won control of the hill but several days latter the patriots got the hill back. The patriots were forsed to surrender when they ran out of gun powder but they they could still fight by hiding behind rocks and trees. -
Saratoga
France and Spain joined against the Britain. This was the begging of the end for the British.
The patriots had the atemt to split the colonys at the Hutson River. -
Charlston
The British attempted to capture Charlston but they were stopped by the tides. They were successful the second time, The port of Charlston was under siege by the British control for many days, It was attacted by blockading. -
Cowpens
This is an important battle to South Carolina. It showed the cooperation of the regular contanental army. The partisans led the attack and then fled the field tracking the British. -
Yorktown
The French blocked the ability for the British to have food, supplies, and reinforcments brought in from the sea. It was the final battle. The British army camped in Virginia waiting for transport. Surrounded by American and French forces the British were defeted and they surrendered.
