39 clues

the beginning

Period: 1 CE to 2

In the beginning, Amy, Dan, and their aunt Beatrice went to their other aunt's (Grace) mansion. Grace had died so to inherit the role of the most important person in the world they were given the choice to either take 1 million that they were given or they could take up the challenge. 7 teams were formed. the teams consisted of family members. each team was given the first clue and the goal find all of the 39 clues to win and become the most important person in the world.

the first clue

Period: 3 to 4

after reading the first clue Mr. McIntyre told them to not trust anyone. the first place they visited was the library they were looking around when Mr. Alistair came, he had purposed a treaty between them at that moment Dan found a secret passageway to an even bigger library that was underground. after looking for the answer they eventually found a book that gave them a hint to find the next clue Mr. Alistair took the book when a fire arose and they had to get out.

Ben Franklin

Period: 5 to 6

Dan and Amy got out of the library just to see the mansion on fire. They lost the book but remembered a bit before Alistair took it, it talked about Ben Franklin so dan and may set out. They sold their stuff for money and went to Nellie because she can chaperone them buy tickets for planes and order hotels without asking too many questions. After convincing Nellie to help them they left for Philadelphia because the clue said to follow Benjamin Franklin and he used to work as a printer there.

Period: 7 to 8

When they got to Philadelphia Mr. McIntyre gave them a blacklight flashlight to help them. After they went to a library to find any more information. the librarians told Dan and Amy there would be a museum that would show Ben Franklins stuff so they went to check it out. They used the blacklight on everything and when they found something another team appeared (the starlings) they took a picture but as they left an explosion happened. The starlings were incapacitated so they were disqualified.

France

Period: 7 to 8

Amy said their next trip was to France. After they landed they ran into another competitor who drove them to their hotel while saying they can work together but Dan and Amy did not fall for it this time. once they left the car they saw a different competitor (Irina Spaski) and Dan and Amy decided to follow her. She goes into a mansion so Dan and Amy follow her inside. They kept stocking Irina until they saw her looking at something on the computer.

France continued

Period: 7 to 8

Dan and Amy looked at the computer and it was a place on a map on the way back they were spotted and they had guards chasing them, but dan and Amy were able to escape. they decided to go to the place before anyone else can get there but when they got to the place it was a run-down cemetery and once they got there they saw a grave with their names on it and they fell in a pitfall near it. then a different team came and they apparently were following them as well.

Period: 7 to 8

then a cement truck came to bury Dan and Amy but right before they were able to do that the team following Dan and Amy pulled them out of the hole. Dan and Amy ran away while the other team fought the cement workers.

Period: 9 to 10

Dan, Amy, and Nelly entered the catacombs they walked a long time until they reached a blocked-off area. They opened the gate a took out a flashlight. At the end of the hallway, they looked around but couldn't find anything. As they were about to give up Dan noticed that some skulls had numbers on them so they lined them up and 3 skulls were missing 12,5,14 they realized it coordinates as they were about to leave they were stopped by another team but Alister distracted them.

Period: 9 to 10

the next day they decided to try exploring the catacombs. Amy thought that Ben would have something down there like a clue so the next morning they left for the entrance of the catacombs. to their surprise Alistair was there he offered to have a chat in a nearby cafe, they agreed because he said he would pay for the food and drinks. they were in a conversation when another team entered the catacombs. Alistair told Dan and Amy to leave and he will stall them.

Period: 9 to 10

while Alistair distracted the other team, Dan, Amy, and Nelly ran away until they found a window that leads to a subway. All of them left the catacombs but as they got off the tracks of the subway and bag got caught so he stayed there trying the open his bag or to get it off but it was stuck people stuck their hand out to grab him but he didn't leave the train was in sight at the last moment he left his bag and got pulled out. he had lost the only pictures of his parents.

finding the next clue

Period: 11 to 12

Next, they went to a library to find what the numbers meant. They got a conference room and had librarians come to their aid whenever. After a bit, they learned that the next clue was at a church but then they got there there were 2 churches but Amy knew it was the smaller one because it wasn't ben franklin's style as he like simple architecture.

Period: 13 to 14

Amy realized when it said charge thee it needed to be hit will lightning so dan and Amy went to the church but all the groups seem to be right behind them chasing them went they went to the roof they covered the hatch with a bell but Eisenhower Holt was strong so he was slowly moving it when Amy got everything ready it didn't take long for lighting to hit it and when it did the liquid turned green but when she got down Ian( a competitor) traded dan for the vile as he took dan as a hostage.

Thought they were at a setback as the vile said it would help them.

Period: 13 to 14

Dan saw a grave with one of the family's crests so he rushed over there and started to dig. Amy and Dan dag until they found a secret entrance. In there was a room with markings of people on the wall who they assumed was the head of each family and a vase under it was sheet music and inside was a piece of paper that wrapped around vile that had seemed to be random letters but dan realized it was an anagram. It read "as thou charge this, so I charge thee, use thy skills the truth to free

Period: 13 to 14

Ian took Dan as a hostage using poison and offed to trade the antidote for the vile. Dan was muffled but he kept shaking his head but Amy agreed anyway. when she unmuffled him he said that he wasn't poisoned and was ok. then finally Eisenhower holt came in but it was too late Ian had the vile and left everyone left and Dan was mad they lost the clue but Amy said that the vile wasn't the clue was the piece of paper that wrapped the vile, so they did not lose the clue.
