The Black Death
The Black Death or the Black Plague was an epidemic which swept across Central Asia and Europe between the 1200s and 1350. This plague was spread through the bite of infected rat fleas. The Black Death got its name from the swollen glands in the neck, armpits, and inner thigh of the victim which filled with blood and turned black. Often, people wouldn’t have any more than 12 hours to survive after being bitten. -

The Rise of the Ming Dynasty
The start of the Ming Dynasty is an important part of Chinese history because the Mongol Empire was finally overthrown and restored power to Chinese peasants for the next 300 years. There were important developments in trade and culture during this time. This was also the beginning of large civil engineering projects in Chinese culture, for example, the rebuilding of the Great Wall of China. The Ming built the wide brick walls that are still holding up today.
