Invented by George Eastman. When Eastman invented the box camera this most likely lead to all kinds of different cameras. The box camera has roll film. Which Eastman also invented which is why the Kodaks are sometimes called the Eastman Kodaks. Eastman didn't stop after this either he began to come out with other types of cameras and films.
