Edema is a condition where the body, mainly feet and legs, swells from fluid accumulation in the body's tissues. This is sometimes caused by gravity or sitting in one place for a long time. This pulls water down into your legs causing edema. If you push in the swollen area for 15 seconds, if the swollen spot leaves a dimple, you will know if you have edema. Edema cannot be cured, but you can treat the conditions that cause it such as elevating your leg, this will make the fluids move around.
