    Tennis For Two
    The first video game.
    Was created by William Higinbotham.
    It was played on an oscilloscope.
    The controls were basic a small joystick and a button.
  • Spacewar!

    Spacewar!
    The 1st video game build for a computer.
    Created by Steve Russell.
    It was played/designed on MIT PDP-1 mainframe computer.
    The controls was switches but was later switched to a joystick.
  • Odyssey

    Odyssey
    Odyssey was the first games console to be in a persons house and was widely available. It had many electrical components and it was very expensive.
  • Pong

    Pong
    Not sure on exatct date.
    Allan Alcorn created pong as a training excercise.
    Atari then became the owner of the game Pong.
  • Space Invaders

    Space Invaders
    Space Invaders was released by Taito in Japan.
    It is a fixed shooter game and it is single player.
    When this game was releseaed it caused imitations and it made other devlopers enter the market.
  • Pacman

    Pacman
    Pacman was made in the early 80's by an american company called Namco.
    The joystick was a 4 way joy stick (up/down/left/right) so this means it had basic movements.
  • Donkey Kong

    Not sure on the correct relese date.
    The main characters of the game is
    JUMPMAN ( now mario)
    DAMSEL IN DISTRESS ( pauline)
    DONKEY KONG.
    The game is set in a type of maze and Jumpman has to rescue the damsel by dodging objects, donkey kong and other dangers.
    There was a film made about two players competing to get the world record for playing the game (King of kong, a fistful of quarters).

    Nintendo relesed their first computer in 1983 and they also relesed their main character Mario. Mario has had many games made about him (super mario sunshine, mario kart).

    The nintendo entertainment system was relesed in 1985 and it was an 8 bit system. The best selling game of the NES was Super Mario Bros.

    Nintendo Gameboy
    Nintendo gameboy was relesed in the late 1980's and it was a handheld games console. The game boy was not very good in power life because it needed four AA batteries to play it and they did not last very long while playing. There was many successors of the game boy including the colour version of the gameboy and then the gameboy advance, after that it was the Gameboy SP the second relese of it was the gameboy advance sp.

    SEGA - GENESIS
    The sega genesis went under a couple of different names including megadrive, genesis. Two players could play at one time as it had two controller sockets. The best selling game for it was sonic the hedgehog 2.

    Sega's answer to nintendo
    In 1991 sega brought out the character sonic the hedgehog as a rival to nintendo's main character Mario. Sonic the hedgehog series produced a series of games and there as been some spin-offs using some of the characters from the main sonic games.

    Playstation 1 was sony's first console and it used disks. It had space for two controlers but a controler block could have been pucrchased to make it 4 player. The best selling game was Gran Turismo.

    Nintendo 64
    N64 was the last nintendo console to use game paks to play games. It can have 4 players. Super Mario 64 was the console's best selling game of all time.
  • 2001 consoles

    In 2001 there was three consoles relesed by three different companies, sony relesed the PS2, microsoft relesed the Xbox and nintendo relesed the Gamecube. The ps2 did the best as it has out sold them and is still very popular.
  • 2006

    These are the latest versions of the 2001 consoles. PS3, Xbox 360 and the nintendo wii.
