    This event took place from the black hills of the dakotas to the little bighorn river in montana.This event happened on june 25, 1876.It was a conflict between the sioux tribe and the army over gold.No white man was allowed on the sioux land but Custer went and attacked but the sioux were ready and defeated custer.The rest of the army drove the sioux up to canada then which the sioux gave in and would live on the reservation.This showed that the u.s couldnt keep their word.

It is significant because this battle didnt have to happen, a shot rang out so people got scared a fired.
