    Bounty Hunter Samus Aran is hired by the Galactic Federation to defeat the Space Pirates and their Leader, Mother Brain, on Planet Zebes. Along the way she acquires ancient Chozo artifacts and weapons and defeats Guardians Kraid and Ridley (The latter having killed her mother when she was three).

    METROID PRIME (PLOT)
    Samus intercepts a distress call from Frigate Orpheon, a Space Pirate research vessel in orbit around Planet Tallon IV, and investgates. After defeating the Parasite Queen that overran the Frigate, she escapes Frigate Orpheon, running into Meta Ridley in the process, who escapes the frigate. She follows him in her gunship, while the Frigate crashes on the surface of Tallon IV. She then discovers that the race that raised her, the Chozo, settled on Tallon IV.

    Samus discovers that the Pirates are experimenting with a new mutagen called Phazon. She proceeds to ruin a Space Pirate research facility, along with a Pirate mining operation, and collects twelve Chozo Artifacts, known collectively as the Cipher. She then proceeds to the Artifact Temple and defeats Meta Ridley, gaining access to the Impact Crater. She then defeats the Metroid Prime and frees Tallon IV from the influence of Phazon.

    METROID PRIME HUNTERS (PLOT)
    The Galactic Federation intercepts a telepathic message stating, "The ultimate power rests in the Alimbic Cluster." Samus is hired to seek out this power and secure it for the GF, or destroy it if it is deemed too much of a threat. However, six other bounty hunters ialso got the message, and left to obtain this power first.

    Samus defeats the hunters and obtains the Octoliths, gaining acces to the "Ultimate Power," which has since been revealed to be a lie sent out by Gorea. She then proceeds to destroy Gorea and escapes with the rest of the Hunters.

    Metroid Fusion is released for the Game Boy Advance.

    Metroid is brought into the third dimension with the First-Person Adventure Metroid Prime, released for the Nintendo Gamecube.

    Samus is once again hired by the GF, this time to locate and assist a group of GF Marines lost on Planet Aether. SHe gets there too late, however, finding the Marines were annihilated by the Ing, a race inhabiting a "Dark Twin" of Aether, the alternate dimension Dark Aether. She soon finds herself in the middle of an inter-dimensional war for control of the Light of Aether between the Luminoth and the Ing, but she also faces the Space Pirates and her own Dark Twin, Dark Samus.

    A remake of the original Metroid, Metroid: Zero Mission is released for the GBA. New elements include the now-familiar Space Jump, Plasma Beam and Gravity Suit, as well as a new sequence at the end of the game where players control Samus without her Power Suit.

    Along the way, she defeats the rogue hunters and the Leviathans' guardians (Reptilicus War Golem Mogenar, Swarmbot Helios and Omega Ridley), becoming even more corrupted. When the GF discovers the planet Phaaze, which is the source of phazon, Samus hijacks Dark Samus' personal Leviathan Battleship and travels to Phaaze. There, she comes face-to-face with her Dark Twin for the final time. After defeating Dark Samus, Samus escapes Phaaze.

    Samus is hired by the GF once again when their Aurora Network is forced down by a Phazon-based computer virus. However, she and three other hunters are called down to the planet Norion when the Space Pirates attack it. Soon afterwards, a Phazon Meteor is sighted headed straight for Norion. Samus and the other hunters destroy the Leviathan, but are corrupted by the revived Dark Samus. She is then sent to three other planets to free them from Phazon Corruption.

    Samus is again hired by the GF, this time to exterminate the Metroids of planet SR388. She acquires Chozo artifacts along the way, and after destroying the Queen Metroid, finds a Metroid Egg, which hatches and reveals the Metroid Hatchling, which bonds with Samus. She then hands it over to the scientists of the Ceres research labs.

    Metroid Prime Pinball is a Pinball-themed video game based on the story of the original Metroid Prime.

    Soonn after leaving Ceres research labs, Samus recieves an SOS from the laboratory. She returns to see Ridley escaping with the Metroid Hatchling. She follows him back to Zebes, and proceeds to defeat the Space Pirates there. She eventually defeats Ridley once and for all, as well as Kraid and new guardians Draygon and Phantoon.

    Samus then fights Mother Brain again, but is nearly killed until the Metroid Hatchling, grown to an immense size, heals her. However, the hatchling is destroyed by Mother Brain, but gives Samus the Hyper Beam, which Samus then uses to destroy Mother Brain.

    Metroid Prime Hunters is released for the Nintendo DS. It makes use of the dual screens of the DS in its controls.

    Samus recieves an SOS from the Bottle Ship, and proceeds to investigate. She finds a team of Federation Marines, commanded by her old commanding officer, Adam Malkovitch. She decides to assist them. Along the way, she finds out that the scientists of the Bottle Ship were developing a Metroid Bioweapon program.

    METROID PRIME TRILOGY
    Metroid Prime Trilogy was released for the Nintendo Wii, and was a remake of ALL THREE PRIME GAMES ON ONE DISK! It uses Corruption's controls for all three games, but does not allow the use of the GameCube controller. Also added was Corruption's Award system, which also allows players to unlock the Fusion Suit in Metroid Prime without connecting with Metroid Fusion.
