Accident or Suicide
Was Dorothy Bradford's death an accident or a suicide? I think Dorothy Bradford might hav killed herself because she realized this was not the life she wanted. I believe she may have followed her husband, William Bradford, becuase she felt it was her duty as a wife to do so. She probably knew that her husband woould be devasstated if she did not follow him, and she did not want to feel like she let him down. I have no doubt that she loved him but she could not take the guilt. -
Who was Mary Rowlandson and why is she so well-known?
Mary Rowlandson was the wife of the Congressional Minister for Lancaster, One day in February she and her three children were kidnapped by a Wampanoog raididng party. She was held captive for nearly three months until her ransom wasd paid. Rowlandson became well-known after wrote a narrative that described her life in captivity. It was absolutely horriffic, she descrobed how they had to eat horses, skunks, or anything they could find. It also included how she was seperated from her children.
