Xanga is one of the earlier social networking websites known. It is not used by many people anymore. There are stil updates every now and then, but no real reason anymore. -

It was created by a group of programmers who had already had an internet company. They were originally members of friendster which was created the year before. The offical date is unknown. All that is known is that it was launched in august of 2003. Myspace is the first largest network on the internet. -
Facebook
Facebook is the second largest network on the web. It was founded by former hardvard student Mark Zuckerberg. who ran it as on of his hobby projects with some financial help from Eduardo Saverin. You must be a member of one of the 30,000+ schools that it recognizes. First known as thefacebook it was changed to facebook in august 2005. -
Youtube
Unregistered users are aloud to watch videos. While registered users are aloud to download and watch videos freely. In November 2006 youtube was bought by google inc. for $1.65 billion. -
Twitter
Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. -
Myyearbook
Myyeatbook was invented in 2006 by two highschool students who wanted to create a way for other people comunicate and meet new people all around the world. -
Formspring
Formspring is a social networking site that enables people to ask questions to a person anonymous or known. It has become one of the biggest major cyberbullying websites.
