    Bush wins the electoral election despite losing the popular vote. Controversy ensues as Florida cannot claim a winner due to the "butterfly" ballots confusing Gore's voters as they did not know which box to check.
  • World Trade Center Attack

    personal experience -Being 4 years old this is one of the first memories I remember. I remember sitting in front of the television and seeing the black bellowing smoke from the buildings. I vividly remember airport security changing overnight and the turmoil from 9/11
  • Iraq War

    Iraq War
    Saddam Hussein violated several Gulf War Settlement such as abiding by no-fly zones and Weapon inspections. CIA claimed Saddam were hiding Weapons of Mass Destruction and the US government considered Saddam a terrorist. He was captured and sentenced to death by an Iraqi Court for crimes against humanity. WMD were never discovered and by 2011 President Obama withdrew the troops.
  • Moving to the US

    Parents and I immigrated into the US from Lithuania. The reason for moving is for better opportunities.
  • Indian Ocean Tsunami

    Indian Ocean Tsunami
    One of the worst Tsunamis in History. Over 230,000 deaths. Caused by an earthquake 150 miles away the waves moved as fast as 500 mph. It was deadly do to the sheer speed and no warning. This was a day after Christmas adding to the misery due to Indonesia being a popular vacation spot.

    Hurricane Katrina
    Hurricane Katrina was a Category 5 striking Louisana and Mississippi. First striking Florida as a Cat. 1 it eventually made it to the Gulf of Mexico where it picked up strength. Striking New Orleans, caused massive damage and flooding due to NO being below sea level and their levees overflowing from the Storm Surge. This caused more than $160 billion dollars in damage and the population of New Orleans dropped by almost 30% from 2005 - 2011.
  • Iphone Release

    Steve Jobs released the first iPhone. This is the first phone that Apple released and kickstarted the "smart" phone movement having an all-screen display. The iPhone has dominated the US market with US individuals choosing the iPhone 80% of the time.
  • Barack Obama Election

    Barack Obama Election
    the 44 president of the US.
    He is the first African American to become President. Running as a Democrat against the Republican nominee Mitt Romney, Obama served two terms and helped end the US involvement in the Middle East
  • Libya Revolt

    Libya's people were revolting against their leader Qaddafi after he ordered Fethi Tarbel, a human rights lawyer to be arrested. There was a sudden rise of violence from the Libyan government causing protesters to revolt. UN and foreign leaders condemned Qaddafi's use of violence against their people. NATO eventually took control and launched a team assault to take down the Qaddafi regime. Qaddafi was eventually captured and killed by rebels.
  • Trayvon Martin

    The Death of Trayvon Martin caused multiple cities to go into riots due to police brutality. Police Brutality was occurring at a rapid pace during the 2000s and this was tipping point. Zimmerman the police officer was charged with 2nd murder.
  • US Syria Involvement

    the US intervened in the Syrian Civil War to prevent the terror organization ISIS from taking control of the region. Russia also intervened to promote their group and there were clashes between the two superpowers. The Syrian President Bashar al-Assad controls 70% of Syria's territory.
  • Same Sex Marriage Legal In All 50 States

    The Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage legal and banned all opposing state laws. The ruling was 5-4 in favor of legalization. The case Obergefell v. Hodges
  • 4th Place State Championship

    At Florida Highschool State Championship I placed 4th place. This is the highest position I placed in swimming to this point. Gold Medalist Caleb Dressel placed first, talk about a small world.
  • Roe v. Wade overturned

    Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organisation issued a decision to overturn Roe v. Wade stating that abortion is a state issue and not a federal one. The fallout of this is half of the states in the US outlawed abortion and is a topic of discussion to this day.
  • I'm Engaged!

    Engaged to my girlfriend of 3 years. Engaged in Delray Beach and wedding date is set for April 2025.
