Mount Moriah, Jerusalem, Abraham Almost Sacrificing Isaac
https://biblehub.com/timeline/old.htm How did God continue to advance his mission to reflect His glory in this story?
God's mission is to display His glory in our world. He does this through Abraham AND Sarah's descendants. God had promised Abraham descendants as numerous as the stars and all nations of the Earth would be blessed by them. The only way that would be possible is if Isaac lived, which is why God spared Isaac's life. -

Jesus suffered from His brothers, the Jews, as they plotted to kill him multiple times until they succeeded. Christ suffered from His brothers, the Jews, who planned many times to kill Him. They were successful in Matthew 27:32-56 (Crucifixion of Christ) -

West Bank, Israel and Palestinian Conflict Continues (God's Covenant with Abraham Fufiled)
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2019/03/israel-arrests-7-palestinians-west-bank-raids-190318160130460.html God said that Hagar and Abraham's son, Ishmael, that "his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers” (Genesis 16:21). Isaac and Ishmael’s descendants are the Jews and Arabs/Palestinians. They are brothers and their descendants are in a seemingly never ending feud. This shows that God clearly keeps his promises. -
Personal Reflection
I really connect to Esau after the events of Genesis 27. He was furious when he realised his brother Jacob had stolen his birthright. " Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing his father had given him" (vv.41) There are countless times when I become infuriated after my sister steals from me. I became so enraged that I want to beat her up and hold a grudge. But the difference is I know I shouldn't do that because God wants me to love her no matter what.
