The Mob Museum Opens
The Mob Museum is an interactive museum dedicated to the history of organized crime and law enforcement. The museum presents a bold and authentic view of organized crime’s impact on Las Vegas history, as well as its unique imprint on America and the world. It is housed in one of our city’s most historic buildings – the former federal courthouse and post office that is listed on the National Historic Register. -

The new Las Vegas City Hall - projected move
The City of Las Vegas is planning to move into its new home in mid to late February. This will clear the way for Zappos.com to move its headquarters to the old city hall on Stewart Ave. The new City Hall is an integral part of a broader downtown redevelopment plan. -

The Neon Museum to open its new visitor's center
The Neon Museum is rehabilitating the historic La Concha Motel lobby for use as its visitor’s center so that the museum can offer expanded public hours. The anticipated completion of construction is mid 2012. The La Concha, a swooping curvilinear structure, was designed by famed African-American architect Paul Revere Williams. The building is on the City of Las Vegas Historic Register. -

DISCOVERY Children's Museum projected opening
The Lied DISCOVERY Children's Museum has a long history in Las Vegas dating back to 1984. In late 2012, it will officially change its address to downtown Las Vegas and relocate to Symphony Park, just two miles from the existing museum site. The new DISCOVERY Children’s Museum will be housed within the Donald W. Reynolds Discovery Center, adjacent to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.
