Siri is born
In 2011 Adam Cheyer invents Siri, an AI personal assistant that could be accessed from a cellphone and perform a multitude of tasks. Siri made day to day tasks simpler by simply asking Siri to find a location of a business, make a phone call, or remembering a calendar date. -
The Raspberry Pi
In 2012 Eben Upton co-creates the Raspberry Pi, a small credit card sized computer geared towards teaching and promoting basic computer science. It has since gained in popularity and has been in many advanced technologies including robotics. -
Apple Pay
In 2014 Apple Inc releases Apple Pay using near field communication, or NFC, to pay for items by simply holding a watch or cellphone near a payment terminal. This has opened the possibilities of touchless payments world-wide. -
Apple Watch
Jony Ive’s creation of the Apple watch is publicly released. The apple watch is essentially a cell phone on your wrist. It can make phone calls, track fitness goals, read and send text messages, and pay for items in the grocery store using Apple Pay and NFC.
