Moon Watcher and Tribe Find a monolith *Date not accurate
Moon-Watcher, an ancient man-ape, and his tribe find a mysterious monolith that when they go near it, the monolith starts controlling their minds making them do various things such as tie nots and create tools. -
Monolith found on the moon
A black monolith nicknamed TMA-1, was discover on the moon. This monolith has dimension ratios of exactly 1 : 4 : 9. After being undug on the moon and once it is touched by sunlight the monolith sent out a radio transmission directed at on of the moons of Saturn. -
Embarking of Discovery 1
Discovery 1, armed with the highly intelligent AI Hal 9000, embarks on her journey to Saturn with 5 passengers aboard, Frank Poole, David Bowman, and 3 other astronauts in a artificial hibernation until about the time they pass Jupiter. -
AE-35 unit "fail"
Aboard Discovery 1, HAL 9000 A.I. computer predicts that AE-35 electronics unit that controls pointing of high-gain antenna at Earth for communications will fail within 72 hours. HAL recommended to Bowman that unit be replaced prior to failure, but the unit seems to be working perfectly fine. -
Hal kills Poole
Poole goes out on a space walk to try to diagnose the second problem with the unit when Hal sends the extravehicular pod at full throttle at Poole and it crushes him. -
The Star Gate
After a long trek, Bowman and Discovery 1 finally are in orbit of one of Saturn's moon when he sees a black monolith exactly like the one on the moon just much bigger. Bowman takes a pod and goes to the monolith only to see stars through the top and go through. He ends up going near the speed of light through this monolith, once he gets to the other side he finds something unfathomable. -
Hal is tweaking
Bowman checks the AE-35 unit and nothing is wrong with it but he replaces it anyway. Withitn a couple hours Hal says the unit failed again and bowman and Poole start to think something is wrong with Hal. -
The first argument with an AI
With Poole gone Bowman decides to awake the three other astronauts from their hibernation so he askes Hal to give him control of the hibernation pods. Hal refuses and there is a back and forth until Bowman threatens to unplug Hal. Scared of death, Hal gives in and unlocks the pods. -
Truth revealed
With all the other members of the crew the true motives for the mission were reveled to Bowman. It was revealed that they were going to Saturn to follow the mysterious transmission given by the monolith, chasing extra terrestrial life hopefully to be found there. -
Hal murders again
Once the pods are opened by Bowman, Hal opens all the air locks removing the artificial atmosphere in the ship, killing the 3 others and leaving Bowman in a safety pod with limited oxygen. Bowman was able to get a space suit and go to the main cabin to close the doors and shut down Hal for good. -
A hotel in the middle of the universe
After going through the monolith he is somewhere in the universe were the colors are invited. He flies around until he finds a hotel just like a normal one on earth. He is skeptical but takes off his suit and can breath. He is tired and takes a nap in the bed when he sees his whole life suddenly flash before his eyes then sees another monolith appear at the end of his bed. When he tries to touch it, his body transform into an eternal god-like being, the star child.
